Money, Manifestation & Miracles

As an entrepreneur in the game for over a decade and a woman who graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Women's Studies... this book rocked my world in the best of ways.

A secular sleuth on a constant lookout for organic irony and synchronicity in life, I was charmed when this book was prefaced by the author with,

"It is also no coincidence that this book has come into your life at this time. You are likely ready to align your talents and passion with your purpose and the meaningful contribution you want to make."

Boom.

This book was BOOM, in the best of ways.

As a business owner, I believe wholeheartedly that self-esteem plays a large part in the decision to dive off the deep end and take a chance on yourself.

In a way, entrepreneurship is entirely based upon betting on yourself, believing in your abilities, and having the self-discipline, faith, and grace to ride the wild waves of starting up a company.

As a woman from humble and rural roots, I grew up very comfortable in life but not particularly rich in comparison to many others of the wealthy world.

I was genuinely intrigued to read this book because I so strongly knew that I needed to.

For many months after founding and building upon Peace to the People, LLC I took a series of small risks, slowly shedding away more and more clients so I could at last attempt to stand on my own and experience my own power as a self-sustaining woman in business.

I frequently struggled with my relationship to money—feeling guilty for charging clients or sending invoices to people I genuinely liked (most of the people I worked with), not wanting to appear salesy, gimmicky, or sleazy to my friends, wondering endlessly what a reasonable rate to charge was, etc.

In short, I was timid to step into my own power, and also, as a middle-class American from a small town in rural Ohio, I had encountered many, many, many experiences of better-than-thou snobbery from the most elite and wealthy upper crust of society.

I frequently struggled with wanting to be an ethical entrepreneur that was authentic and transparent with my "clients" (my friends and beloved students) and also (perhaps unconsciously) associated those who had resources of being corrupt or unkind, selfish, or greedy people.

It was Kino MacGregor of all people who called me out years ago when I was fortunate enough to chauffeur her around in my car for her workshops at Yoga on High. 

Chit chatting about life, in passing I must have made a remark about those with wealth. And on the spot Kino said something along the lines of, "Whatever people are, with money, they become more of. I've found that those who were greedy and selfish before acquiring money may stay like that, but many kind, giving, and altruistic people who have wealth give great donations and really contribute positively to the communities around them."

Touché, Kino.

I'd thought about that moment in time for years. It wasn't until reading this book that it clicked how much my own relationship to money was quite negative. And as this book reminds, what do we often hear about money? It's the root of all evil. 

To be spiritual and financially successful is in fact possible, though I admit I was resistant at first to give this book a chance or hear it out.

I'm extraordinarily grateful now that I've read this book, and can vouch personally that it has greatly shifted my own relationship with money.

While this book utilizes concepts I adore like visualization and positive affirmation to clarify the target you have in mind to reach, I at first found myself a tad skeptical that an inner shift could actually produce a noticeable change in my outer financial reality.

Then, another great coincidence coincided with me finishing this book: I finally let go of a client I loved and had given much time and energy to for many years, slightly nervous about abandoning a consistent and dependable paycheck.

Taking a chance, I felt the time was right to attempt to fly with my own wings.

I kid you not—the week I released that client, I received an offer to exist in my exact same role, as a social media manager, and in what would have taken me several months to earn previously, I made in a matter of hours.

My worth didn't double, triple, or quadruple. My rates literally increased times TEN, just days after I closed this book.

I am in no way suggesting this book is soley responsible, but I will say: it broke down some SERIOUS walls I didn't even know were there, and seriously assisted me in knowing my worth even more unshakeably.

I recommend EVERY woman in business check this book out, if only to bounce your own self-beliefs against it and see what you discover about yourself.

A phenomenal read for ladies, and probably any and every human in business for themselves as well.
