The Five Roles of a Master Herder: a Revolutionary Model for Socially Intelligent Leadership by Linda Kohanov:

Perceptive and Informative!

This book by Linda Kohanov is one of the best, most common sense, scientifically backed, and engaging book on leadership I've read in a long while!

The Five Roles of a Master Herder: A Revolutionary Model for Socially Intelligent Leadership was a work of nonfiction I wasn't initially sure I would vibe with as a person with next to no knowledge about equestrian life.

After thinking, "I know nothing about horses," seeing its cover, I read this book and was all in.⠀

If you are interested in science, animals, leadership, common sense, or nonverbal communication and the chemistry behind it, this book is seriously awesome. ✨⠀

It offers such a healthy encouragement to be a well-rounded human in tune with other beings and social ecosystems.⠀

Unlike many books that focus on particular personality types and traits, this was the first work I've read that encourages people to embody and strike a balance of the many roles required to be an effective leader:⠀

This book uses real-life examples of humans and animals who display the many roles possible in packs: Dominant, Leader, Sentinel, Nurturer/Companion, Predator.⠀

Very inspiring! Highly recommended! 😁📚💖⠀

“Kohanov outlines five distinct leadership roles and explains how nomadic pastoral cultures embodied and balanced the five roles to move huge groups of animals, without restraints, through various predators, drastic climates, and other challenges.”
