INGREDIENTS

• 1 Large Banana 🍌

• 1 Cup of Spinach 🍃

• 1 Cup of Frozen Mixed Berries 🍓

• 1 Cup of Orange Juice 🍊

• ½ Cup Water 💦

• 1 Tablespoon of Flax Seed

• 1 Tablespoon of Wheat Germ

INSTRUCTIONS

1) Put the spinach, banana, and berries into a Nutribullet cup.

2) Sprinkle in flax seed and wheat germ.

3) Add in orange juice, and fill the rest of the way to the max line with water.

4) Put on the lid, blend, and enjoy!

ETC.

You can use a regular blender to make these, but what I’ve used and loved for well over a decade is a Nutribullet!

They typically come with a big cup, and a small cup.

If I make a smoothie for myself, I use the small cup; if my husband wants one too, I use the big cup and double everything. #commonsense 😂

I personally think the orange juice makes or breaks these smoothies. You can add a little or a lot, and fill to the max fill line the rest of the way with water.

There are a million variations of this smoothie, and I like to have flax seed and wheat germ on hand just for making these, as they add a lot of nutritional value while not taking away from the deliciousness of the smoothie.

VARIATIONS

For me, I put as much spinach as I can pack into these smoothies.

Unlike (no offense!) kale 👀, spinach doesn’t effect the texture much, and packs a lot of nutritional punch while being relatively flavorless mixed in with the fruit—unlike (no offense!) celery 👀, which makes the entire fruit smoothie taste like celery. #nothanks

The banana is non-negotiable, in my opinion. Not only are these packed with nutrients, but they add sweetness, and most importantly, a great creamy texture.

You can add yogurt, but I personally don’t find it necessary.

I like to make these exact smoothies with all of the same ingredients, but instead of mixed berries like to use all strawberries, or all blueberries too.

It depends on what I have readily available in my house, but sticking to the main ingredients listed above, I love adding:

Mandarin Oranges 🍊

Peaches 🍑

Mango 🥭

Apples 🍎

Kiwi 🥝

In a nutshell, you can make this simple smoothie so many different ways to keep it fresh and exciting, and can use up whatever fruit you have available!
