Joyful Wedding Planning: Tips, Tricks + Tactics

After writing a longwinded email to the very special and wonderful Kim Corbin of New World Library, she gave me the wild idea of writing a blog post on my experience... so... here you go ladies (or potential fellas!) mapping out the details of your big day. 1) Skip the little shit. I promise. As you may know, I write tons of posts and courses (links) on how to streamline and organize your home, life, and business... planning every detail of my wedding sans wedding planner (but with a mother ready and willing to go toe to toe with the planning) was an extension of my business and life. What had priority? There was a definite deadline, in fact: MANY. When to get the save the dates, the invitations, the tuxes, the bridesmaids dresses, asking the wedding party, getting their gifts, the centerpieces, the cake, the photographer, videographer, the venue, the honeymoon, the decorations... holy HELL was this not exactly like building a business from scratch! Brand Guidelines applied to this DIY method completely. Music, DJ, speeches, family dynamics and invitable drama... yikes and a half and cheers to unplanned surprises and unexpected bumps.
