Making Quotes "Your Own"

This makes me think of Michael Scott and inevitably makes me smile.

“You miss all the shots you don’t take.

— Wayne Gretzky

— Michael Scott”

However, this is one of the most consistenly missed opportunities I see in people’s businesses and brands… first, stealing somebody elses image should alarm you for more reasons than one:

First, you may have infringed upon someone else’s copyrighted material… and if you have, you should redract that immeditatly. Not only because it is wrong to the creator, if they are on or even a little vindicative… beware, for real.

See: how a two inch image of a cow I thought was “royalty free” wasn’t. See: the threat of a lawsuit and a $400+ fine.

Don’t learn the hard way, folks.

Unless you love the feeling of getting punched in the gut, purposefully seeking out irratation or burning money on bullshit. Live it up!

More importantly, stealing someone else’s quotes often doesn’t match your fonts, your colors, your brand! Many are advertising somebody else’s logo!

Why?

Laziness. Convenience.

Mmk.

Such an easy fix I shake my head when I watch others fall into this stupid trap.
