Google timer. Or literally any timer you like.
Though I could easily use an app on my phone or iPad (or hell, use a real clock or timer!) I work already with a gazillion tabs open, conveniently hopping from site to beloved site.
I put Google timer on for say, 10 Minutes with the intention to get one small goal completed.
Usually things take me longer than I initially antipate, but by the time the timer goes off, I am already in a flow state with all the tools open and ready to complete whatever task I'm doing.
I'll hit "reset" maybe once or twice (or sometimes even 4-5 times if I'm way off on how long something will take.)
Why not just set a longer alarm, you ask?
That's a great question. My answer is totally personal and based on experiential knowledge--do what works for you!
I love the short bursts, and don't mind resetting my timer a time or two or three or four, as long as I'm feeling motivated and knocking things out.
