Sustainable Change + Immediate Results
No shocker here: in an era of instant messaging and social media rolling in on live time, we often forget that the most important changes in life are far from instant.
People in the West often want (or even expect) instant change.
This makes me think of the Dos Equis meme, “I don’t always workout, but when I do I expect the results to be instant and spectacular.”
Instead, think of planting a seed. No instant fruit tree. Takes weeks, months, years to take root, grow organically, and eventually: blossom and yield delicious results.
Many people do not understand the longevity of mindset it takes to achieve what they most want.
They give up months too soon.
Keep going.
Believe.
What are your priorities?
Practice every single day, every week, every year until you see the results you desire.
Takes consistent practice.
Be kind, gentles, and patient with yourself as you change.
You are well worth your time!
Whatever you practice you become good at.
Change takes a temendous amount of willpower.
Depends on the consistency of your practice.
For me, it’s relaxing.
You know it’s going to take months or years. Okay.
Why freak out?
You could push yourself hard seven days a week, but most of us understand to be sustainable we need a counterbalance of rest and rejuventation. Sleep and occasional laziness. Play makes life worth living.
How badly do you really want it?
