Having said that, it’s all too easy for text to be lost in transaction.
I am an expressive and feeling ENFP—heck yes you will know the tone and intention of my words! (Typically, playful, upbeat, and occasionally professional.
I have worked with way too many wonderful humans (and a handful of particularly not-so-wonderful humans) to know that I prefer warmth in my relationships.
People who say business isn’t personal are probably not doing business with me.
Treat me with a nasty ass attitude and seriously sir, I don’t want you as my client.
Building relationships on a foundation of trust and mutual understanding is everything, at least to me.
Life is too short to CHOOSE to work with jerks.

Sure can convey quite clearly what I mean.
I’ve worked for fear-based leaders and have heard first hand what is said about them when they leave the room.
To me, that is not effective leadership, creating a fear-based environment of pseudo-respect, people becoming your trembling yes men to avoid your tyrannical treatment.
Does everyone I’ve work with love me? Hell no.
But I’d bet most are happy to see me coming, knowing I will do my damndest to bring joy, levity, and a sense of humor to most all situations, smiling and doing what I can to treat others with respect and honor.
People who love their leaders are loyal. Send the damn smiley face. Don’t make people guess what type of tone your response was intended to be read.
