How to Create Great Playlists for Fitness Classes
In case you need some assistance.
As a nerdy girl with a musical history, I definitely see some teachers that could use a tip or two. Phew!
For teachers who don't have completed playlists before entering your space to teach, I'm here for you.
For those who can't decide on a song mid-class and disrupt the peace to click through many to find one that suffices: don't be that person.
My advice?
• Come to class completely prepared.
• Create playlists that are exactly the length of your classes.
• Create thematic playlists with natural and helpful arcs.
Begin with a brilliant and semi-relaxing song—then, gradually progress your playlist so the intensity of each song gets stronger and stronger and builds to a climatic crest—then, wind your playlist down to a peaceful series of songs leading you to the exact end of your class.
You can't go wrong.
You know by the slowing down of your songs that you should naturally be approaching your cool down.
You know by the emotional intensity of the songs what moves you should be doing to match your music.
