Mastering Yourself—Business Meets Mindfulness
If you're here and have been browsing about my website, I'm sure you've noticed there is a LOT of interconnected pieces to my business model.
It has taken me years to at last construct the foundation for my business, Peace to the People.
As a writer, artist, meditation teacher, RYT 500, and entrepreneur, I can attest from at least my perspective: all of these endeavors require self mastery, or at least, self inquiry.
To become an entrepreneur is to learn to master yourself.
I have a strong, stubborn desire to support myself on my own terms.
I stand tall and know I can walk the walk and be self sustainable.
Entrepreneurship starts with believing in yourself.
How could it not? Your efforts at sustaining yourself financially are starting from your own self.
If you feel you will certainly fail and you still took the plunge to start your own company… well, perhaps you're a fan of self-sabotage.
Most likely though, if you are willing to take a risk and bet on your own abilities, probably somewhere you have a hope, belief, or dream that you have what it takes to bring your ideas into fruition.
And that, in my opinion, stems from a healthy source of self-love, or most importantly, a great relationship with yourself.
While I think all people are quite capable of having a strong relationship with themselves, I suspect that only children have an advantage in the process of soul-searching or self-inquiry: after all, in my experience at least, I had no siblings to play with. I hung out with adults the majority of my life and absorbed as much of their lessons as I could. Most of my time was left for me to entertain myself. Since childhood I have adored reading books and writing, creating… learning to befriend myself was the greatest takeaway.
